Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing
at Glacier Outdoor Center
Glacier Outdoor Center is the perfect place to begin your
winter adventures in the Glacier National Park area. We offer
10K of groomed cross-country ski
trails for both traditional and skate skiers. The 10K trail system meanders
and rolls through moderate terrain on over 100 acres in West Glacier, just
behind Glacier Outdoor Center.
Glacier Outdoor Center has a
full selection of rental equipment,
including ski packages, snowshoes and gaiters, ski pulkas to pull the kids and
skijoring equipment. Take a relaxing break from the trails next to the fire or in the Outdoor Center while munching on a snack. If
you would like to make an event out of your ski day you are welcome to reserve
your own private warming cabin,
complete with couches, gas fireplace, Dish TV and restroom; add a hot tub to
really make it a day. Glacier Outdoor Center is open 7 days a week for all of
your rental and retail needs. Dogs are welcome, with their owners and under
control, after noon daily. Visit our calendar

Join Glacier Outdoor Center, West
Glacier’s only full service winter recreation base camp, for an
interpretive half day or full day tour of
Glacier National Park. Our experienced local guides will tour you among the
mountains and vistas of Glacier Park’s peaks while sharing their years of
accumulated knowledge about the regional flora, fauna, glaciation and winter
outdoor conditions.
Glacier Outdoor Center’s Guides are
trained in the most up to date backcountry medicine and rescue techniques,
avalanche safety certification, and are active patrollers with the Flathead Nordic Ski Patrol &
Professional
Ski Instructors Association. Glacier National Park offers a variety of
terrain for all ability levels, ages, and adventure seeking levels—plains
to peaks; we can take you there.

Glacier Outdoor Center from your location; call for rates. Prices listed below
do not include entrance fees to Glacier National Park or rental equipment. 24

Full Day Guided Tours: Full day
tours meet and depart from Glacier Outdoor
Center at 9 am. A sack lunch and snack is included; please inform us of any
dietary restrictions. Tours conclude around 5 pm. Tour location depends on snow
and trail conditions; we are happy to accommodate tour location requests when
possible.

Would you like to extend your day without
committing to a full day guided trip? Warm up or cool down for no charge on our
groomed trail system (with paid guided half day tour). You are welcome to take
breaks and relax in our Outdoor Center and have a drink and a snack; or you can
book your own private warming cabin.

Snowmobiling Accommodations for Flathead National
Forest
Consider
Glacier Outdoor Center Cabins for your
base camp while exploring the Flathead National Forest from your sled! Our
cabins are perfect for a romantic getaway or large groups, and our spacious and
private parking makes it easy to maneuver your trailers.
There are 234 miles of groomed
snowmobile trails in the Flathead Valley, including Canyon Creek (10 miles from
West Glacier), Desert Mountain (8 miles from West Glacier), Skyland Road (45
minutes east on Hwy 2), Werner Peak Trail (Olney), Graves Creek (Fortine),
Crane Mountain (Ferndale). For more information about snowmobile trails, call

- Jan. 2 – Open House: Bring your relatives (or take a break from them) and enjoy an outing at the Glacier Outdoor Center. Over 10km of groomed X-C ski trails (both classic and skate) Half price rentals on skiis and complimentary use of the trails. Bonfire, hot chocolate and treats for all 10:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.
- Jan. 30 – 3rd Annual Doggie Skijoring Competition: Bring your favorite dog and try doggie ski-joring. $25 entry fee includes equipment and trail fee.10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Race begins at High Noon! Prizes awarded. The event benefits the Humane Society of Northwestern Montana.
- Feb. 14 -- Two Hearts Ski as One: 2 for price of one trail passes & rentals
- Feb. 27-28 – The Race at Glacier: The Western States Ski Fest youth nordic race. Come watch the up and coming young nordic skiers as they race against youth from all over Montana, Idaho, Utah, Washington and Canada. 9a.m.- 4 p.m. each day. Concessions and accommodations available.
